So I sent him a text, "Where are you? I'm all alone and scared." He responded, "Failed at saving seat. We are wildly popular." Gwen and I giggled as he casually glanced around looking for me. So I sent him this pic.
He and his wife whispered a bit but were too polite to spend much time looking around to see where I was. So I sent him this, just in case he was feeling mournful about neglecting me.
He turned around and spotted us giggling like teenagers. "You better have Aunt Norma Jean sit between you two," was his texted advice. Not to worry, Gwen and I instantly snapped into our best behavior once the program opened with a congregational song. May I mention what a marvelous pleasure it was to sit next to Gwen and harmonize with her rich alto voice? (Cousin Cyndi, how I wished you had been there too!) We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful a cappella choir program. It was also really fun to watch the dynamic director bring out the best in the choir as they sang their hearts out. Did I mention the choir director was the Graham Lichti, the husband of my niece Adrienne (Hope's daughter). It's just the best when you see people you love who are outstanding at doing something they are passionate about.
After the program, my nieces were surrounded by friends, and I was talking to my sisters as I waited for an opportunity to speak to the girls and of course to Davie, the special friend of one of the nieces, who was also in the choir and in fact is the tour director. Since my niece is an extraordinarily wonderful young lady and deserves only the best, when I met him in December, I felt it my duty to test his sense of humor (one of the most essential attributes in my opinion). He met with my approval, putting up with the crazy aunt with laughter and just a bit of giving it back at me.

When all the drinks had been delivered, the choir sang a song before they loaded back into their bus.

It was just awesome! Jesus-loving young people making beautiful music for him in the sunshine. I loved it so much!
Praying many blessings on them as they continue their tour and bring joy to the hearts of many more!
Thank you Jesus for extended family and for all the love and laughter and enriching experiences they bring into our lives!
And thank you for letting me be the crazy aunt!
