Kam, it is your first Christmas, and your grandma is far, far away in Maui, away from her children at Christmas for the first time ever. Remember when you and your mom came over in mid-November and we took some pictures of you in your Santa suit?
You have grown and changed so much since then, it's hard to believe. Now you sit, crawl, and pull yourself up. Fortunately, you still have that great smile and happy disposition!
Since we are missing Christmas with you, we made sure that you and all your aunts and uncles came over one evening before we left so we could have our traditional Christmas Eve sparkling cider and pizza by candlelight and open stockings.
Your Aunt Stephanie's brother Tyler came too, because he joined the family when Steph did.
Your daddy was really excited (not!) because we pulled out the Coastal Farm commercials he starred in a few years back because your mommy hadn't ever seen them. Great family entertainment!
You looked really cute in your new hat and you enjoyed chewing on your new heavy duty books. We won't mention how large your stocking was. I think it will be held in reserve for each grandbaby's first Christmas, because filling a stocking that large every year for every grandchild might become a problem!
You were also quite awestruck when your Uncle Eric was humming to you.
We'll have our family "Christmas" on New Year's Day, but I hope to see you and the rest of the family on Sunday. I'll be thinking about all my boys and girls on Christmas Day and look forward to seeing you all very soon. Family is such a precious gift, and the joy of close and extended family is a blessing to enjoy for a lifetime. Merry Christmas to you all!
